FEMA Shelter and Services Program

"The Shelter and Services Program (SSP) is funded through U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and administered by FEMA, as directed by Congress in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023. SSP provides financial support to non-federal entities to provide sheltering and related activities to noncitizen migrants following their release from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The intent is to support CBP in the safe, orderly and humane release of noncitizen migrants from short-term holding facilities. Not a fan of Trump, but FEMA is parsing words when they say disaster relief money has not gone to support illegals dumped in cities. They claim this money comes out of another FEMA fund not connected with US disaster relief. But that's like a person trying rationalize their finances, saying the cash money in their pocket is different from their debit card checking account. And what happens when they run low on cash? They swing by an ATM and use the debit card to pull funds out of their checking to cover. Just like FEMA could do if they had not had to waste the money on illegals which would be there to pull for more towards helping taxpaying US citizens with disaster relief.
