Don't put yourself around losers

I spent a lot of time in my 20s caught up on wanting to be with someone. I had a giant void from this bitch who fucked me up in a lot of ways. I just wanted ONE nice relationship/fling with someone who wasn't horrible. It's like I needed that to erase the bad experience.

Well, I ended up in a short lived fling with someone. Pretty much, they were just as awkward and stifled as I was at the time. Both of us had been in horrible relationships in the past, and if they were anything like me (they were) probably grew up around a lot of domestic violence. So, we were both nice to each other, never abusive, and we had a boring relationship that just sorta ended on it's own. It always kinda felt like a chore TBH, and the vibe felt more like talking to a sibling than a romantic partner.

This experience was a rare outlier as far as the dating pool goes, and is what I'm leading to with this rant. Don't put yourself around awkward, stifled, losers. 99% of people on online dating or attending sad ass speed dating events are. YES, there might be that one outlier. The person who doesn't suck who likely stops using the shit after a few days once they see what it is. Anyone desirable is not going to be fucking living on the apps.

I know it's hard to meet people. I used to work a job that made me feel incredibly lonely, that had shit hours, and pretty much my only option was using those crappy apps and taking off work to attend sad fucking events that I was really too young to be attending.

I've since switched jobs, have a better life balance, and don't ever plan to do any of that shit again. No more one-sided, elevator small talk with losers who have no idea what the fuck they want or what they are even doing on dating apps. And all of the fucking unemployed people on there. GET A JOB. Like fuck. Not working, not going to school, not disabled, not sick, not taking care of anyone, and STILL not doing anything. No goddamn wonder your lazy unmotivated ass is single. I don't ever want someone to be my "passenger princess" and "elder emo" is just another word for impossible trash.
