I'll just clarify while nazi germany was a dictatorship. However, despite human rights violations they were not nor were they anywhere near the most oppressive dictatorships. The soviet union, china. Cambodia, north korea, cuba in our modern day were far worse, nelson mandala gained power by butchery and genocide. Modern South africa has been involved in some things and of course robert mugabe of Zimbabwe. So thats only a few. Nazi germany was only relavant due to Germany's traditional strategic importance but currently while germany is significant its not the world player it was. Previously it was a top 3 player now maybe top 10 and doesn't really join wars. If germany was an african or asian nation nobody would know the nazi party existed would be broadly forgotten. Generally Germany compared to other authoritarian countries on the extreme end was pretty mild except to certain groups like jews. However, my family were jews they actually housed jews never had issues themselves so really look you wouldn't want to be jewish back then. But was nothing to china or the soviet union you could basically walk on the streets like normal comparatively but it was halfway in that direction so really any union government and thats where it leads to.
