Yes, some teens will bitch about nothing. However, I say let them. It's important for every one to feel like they are being heard and many of us rant and complain about something when we think no one is listening to us. Sure, many teens will be overly dramatic about their problems but so will the elderly. Hormones and development are major causes. Ranting is one small way that helps us vent so that we don't blow up.

Just because you don't understand their problems and may not see any valid complaints in what they're saying doesn't mean that you have a right to berate or belittle them. They could have genuinely terrible lives and all you're seeing is a screen name and a thought that they wanted to be heard. You have no right to complain about their 'fake' problems when you yourself likely have several 'issues' that really aren't a big deal at all. i am fifteen. my mom left and promised she'd come back, i have anxiety and i can't even eat around people without feeling like i am on the verge of a panic attack, my dad verbally abuses me and drinks every night and tells me how i am to blame for his depression and that he shouldn't have had me because i make his life oh so much worse and he threatens to kill himself and talks about how he's about to die, both of my grandmas are dying, and i literally have no support/friends. i don't have insurance and my dad stopped paying for therapy because "i have no reason to be depressed." old fucks like you who are set in their ways piss me off so much. you'll all be dead soon, so teenage depression can finally be acknowledged as something that matters and that's real. this place is meant for anyone to rant, so if you don't like it you could just get out. everyone's problems deserve to be acknowledged. stop trying to ruin a good thing for some of the people who need help but have to come on here because they're stuck.

You have to work hard, eat a lot of crap, fight back against the fools around you, be patient, speak your mind and not care what people think of you. Figure out your goals and then get them, do what you have to do to gain those goals. I fought for over 20 years to have a home I could call my own - and I have it almost paid off now. I wanted two 4wd trucks to drive, so I looked for them used, then fixed them up my way, with my sweat, my money. I wanted to be a Navy Radio Operator, and I went to my specialty school and was first in my class, now I am a retired Chief Petty Officer with 23 years service. Back in 1979, I wanted to be an Amateur Radio Operator, and had my Extra Class license in three years. You never get things handed to you free. There is no such thing as a free lunch. You have to work, sweat, struggle, be patient, study, and finally you get it. For you young ones, life is a bitch. My Dad told me after I turned 14, if you want something you gotta work for it, I'm not giving it to you. So, I worked along with him for four years, learned carpentry, plumbing, electrical along by his side. My Uncle taught me auto mechanics on weekends I had off so I would never have to spend high bills on any vehicle to fix it. I was (and still am) "Scotty" on the Enterprise - fix anything fast! Now that I am retired, I can work on the things that mean something only to me. I sweat, get dirty, get greasy, bust my knuckles, get frustrated, but always can find a way to get something done with my own two hands. The only thing I cannot solve is the 12 year old girl whose father abuses her. The only solution is to abandon him, enter the system that is broken, and hope for some good, loving foster parents get her. Never let anybody abuse her mentally or physically, never fear people around her, and have a case worker that LISTENS. I really wish her the very best!

As a 16-year old young adult, I'm fully aware that I haven't reached adulthood, but I have enough experience to call out your bullshit. Teenagers are often faced with physical abuse and mental abuse. Some are forced to provide for themselves, some are human trafficked, some are raped, some have their parents taken away from them, some have parents that are abusive to them, some are bullied, some are burdened with high expectations. Sure, what can we do? You know what we can do? We can create safe spaces for teenagers to express themselves in websites such as this. It may not make much of a difference, but it does for that one teenager. I can't buy a car, a phone, a wi-fi router, food, pay rent, pay electricity and water bills, etc., but I can complain because I've met reality. I've worked hard as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, yard cleaner, mechanic, and student to prepare for the military. It's not easy. I complain because it's stressful. I don't have breaks, weekdays off, weekends off, holidays off. I work through the day and sleep through the night. Rain? Snow? Heat? I work under all those conditions. That's my life. If you believe in all these delusions that you've built up in your mind, then you should simply kill yourself. There's no room for toxic people like yourself. These are real people with real problems. If you don't understand that, then it's you who needs to wake up and face reality.

Being an adult, and being mature, are very different things. Teenagers today have matured quickly for a number of reasons, mainly the shot hole of a world the generations before us created. life might be harder for adults, but teenagers are still developing. we aren't automatically able to suffer through life as easily as adults. because one second we are enjoying our childhood, being kids, having fun, and the next we are thrown into a life filled with depression, anxiety, suicide, self harm, and the pressure to be perfect. we cant be too much this, or too little that. no one actually prepared us for this. also there is the topic of being abused. so sorry if we need to rant about how we are not able to handle all this shit that was thrown on us all at once with little to no help. we are often expected to just suck it up while assholes like you get to rant about all of your problems. so yes, everyone has problems, just teenagers aren't quite prepared to deal with them like adults do. fucking moron.

Life is hard for everyone, for different reasons. Teenagers don't have the life experience of adults, and because of that, they may not have developed coping mechanisms that many adults have. Their problems do not lack validity simply because you believe they just don't have good enough coping mechanisms. My teenage life was worse than now. I also had more responsibility shoved in my face than I do now. So... I think teenagers have a right to hate it.
