Why is it every supposed "art district" is the same? It's shitty poorly run places, two feet away from the worst areas in town.
you go into the restaurants/cafes and the people there usually ignore you unless you're one of the "in" people. AKA. regulars who get exploited.
You sit down and wait forever for subfar food/drinks. The decor is bland and consists of random bright colors and cheap canvases of images of things like dogs or Marlilyn Monroe. The music is the "non-conformist" playlist, like no one else knows Hotel California.
The coffee shop food always sucks. Like you can tell its walmart ingrediants, and it's just a ripoff. Why pay $6 for some breakfast sandwich with a quicky name when I can pay that same amount and just make it myself and get more?
And going back to service. the way the baristas at these places manipulate the old people who come in. I have a big problem with that. Younger people go in and it's like those Popeyes memes of people going up to the counter and being asked "What the fuck you want?!" The baristas do this because they think they can gauge whose going to leave a tip and who won't. you aren't worth being treated right in their eyes if you arne't going to leave them a $10 tip for $6 coffee.
the old people come in, they are greeted, the baristas talk for like five minutes to them and say the persons name a million times, then the barista calls out the order to where they can hear. Anyone else orders, the shit is just sat at the counter and you have to look to see if it's yours.
tell me one art district place that isn't just overpriced shit ran by hipster asshole burnouts, i'll tell you winning lottery numbers.
