Distinctive Difference

Democrats are never going to gain the upper hand in the "what about" duel on attacks on their members because of the different methods the attackers use. Most recent attacks on Democrats by Maga types have happened quietly out of public view at their homes with no immediate sensational video or eye witness accounts of the incident to drive home the depravity of the crime. When news of these attacks breaks, although the media, and everyone else with a brain knows the why it happened, they have to keep reporting it as "what type of crime it is", a home arson, a home invasion, an interrupted burglary, for hours to days until law enforcement finishes their preliminary investigation to confirm what everybody knew. It's old news by then, especially in this 24/7 news era with all the other crazy shit happening in the US & around the world, and there's no visual refresher reminder to reengage interest in it for the general public. Attacks on Republicans recently have been at events with media and a crowd full of people with cell phones. So while law enforcement does the preliminary, news media has plenty of videos & eye witnesses to keep the public engaged until law enforcement reports their findings and for days later afterwards. That's why Trump can get away with making a joke of the Pelosi's attack. All there is of it is a grainy police body cam video that came out well after the attack happened, so Trump can get away with making light of it even though it was meant to be a lethal attack that he miraculously survived that was supposed to be for his Democrat leader wife Nancy Pelosi who wasn't home.
