Upset with my husbands Christmas gift

So yesterday my little family of 4 went over to my sister in laws house to have a small Christmas gift exchange, after all the kids were done opening up their gifts my husband pulled me infringe of everyone and handed me “my gift” which happened to be a tiny hand gun, and I immediately got upset, I don’t have an issue with guns or anyone who owns one, I just don’t prefer to have them around me, or to use them myself and my husband has been asking for a gun for a few years now, my one condition for him to own a gun was that we needed to become home owners first, but this fucker got me the one thing that I didn’t want.. he was only thinking of himself when he saw and bought it, and the thing is, is that he bought it from a friend, he didn’t even try to get one that I would even like.. so I’m standing there upset and then I get embarrassed in front of friends and family, and I know that it’s around Christmas time and you’re supposed to be greatfull for what you get, but this gift wasn’t for me, he thought he could find a loop hole just to have one in our place, I told him why I didn’t like it and what I thought and he doesn’t get it, he then proceeded to tell me how I hurt his feelings cause I didn’t like it. So now I feel like shit, cause I hurt his feelings, and I’m still upset and embarrassed by the whole thing.. he made me seems like a huge bitch in front of everyone... I’m so mad that he did that.. anyone have a similar issue???
