Dumb people

Not everyone is going to receive the promotion they want. It’s logistically impossible that all employees will qualify and have a leadership role available to them. There is a reason that certain people get promoted (I understand that unqualified people also get promoted, but that’s another topic for another day) and only a limited number of positions and only entitled idiots feel that they deserve to lead when their only contribution to a team has been their time on the team and not the problem solving skills or people skills required to lead teams and projects. Some people have been leading their entire life and have learned to navigate the delicate task of providing support, encouragement and sometimes corrective guidance when needed. Some can be extremely skilled at a particular job, but have the people skills of a doorknob. I’m tired of dumb people who don’t understand that they have no idea what they don’t know. I would never assume I understand what my leadership has to deal with or feel entitled to their role just because I want it. I would only apply when I feel ready and if I didn’t get it, oh the f well. Life goes on. Stomping my feet and trash talking the person who did get the role only proves that the made the right decision.
