Body Positivity

Body Positivity

Please stop being proud of your health problem. Accept yourself as you are, don't engage in self-harm, but set reasonable weight loss goals and work toward them in moderation. You aren't healthy and you're shortening your lifespan. It's not sexy.

We should strive for BODY ACCEPTANCE, not BODY POSITIVITY. Positivity implies a good thing and obesity isn't good in any objective sense.

Body positivity leads to = EVERYBODY AROUND ME IS FUCKING FAT AND DYING and that's considered normal and good. I get dirty looks in my current environment because I eat fruit and because I don't get winded walking up 5 steps like 90% of the fat people around me. Majority rules, right? This is fucking ass backwards.

I used to have HPV, I didn't go around rallying HPV pride. I didn't say "This is beautiful! Rock those precancerous cells, ladies!" No, I did what was necessary to get rid of it, which was taking special care of my health.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH. Stop making fucking excuses.

Fat posts make monkeys dance

Barely days after the Discovery took its last trip to space, it was discovered that anti-fat posts make monkeys dance uncontrollably. First, they flag the posts as soon as possible without reading the actual contents. Many believe they themselves are abusing the terms & conditions by using flagging software, or greasemonkey scripts to flag posts without reading the content. Unfortunately this means that many important posts are removed unnecessarily. Many posts that start with "Fat people" are actually ads for used cars, or kudos to other people for great posts. It's absolutely true that these anti-social sub-ground dwelling cavemen ruin the flow of conversation.

You know I actually agree with your point, promoting obesity isn't a good thing obviously. But surprisingly most "body positive" aren't trying to do that. It's the loud minority that are saying harmful things about how being fat is better and skinny people are evil or whatever. Most body positive influencers that people love to bash aren't trying to tell people that being fat is healthy, they're just trying to help people (young girls particularly) realize that your weight doesn't determine your worth. You should love yourself no matter what, and loving yourself means taking care of yourself too. Plenty of body positive influencers show their workouts and their relatively healthy meals, and it's a really positive message all around. A great example of this is Sierra Schultize. Check her out on instagram.
