Friends & Family

You learn a lot about friends and family when you face adversity, and I’ve been surprised, let down and learned a lot.

Those friends who I’ve loved for years, weren’t there for me, like I would have been if the roles were reversed.

It’s my immediate family who were there for me in the clutch, and I’ve never been more grateful.

I used to think my friends were closer to me then my family, I’ve got some amazing friends, these friendships have been 20+ years strong and a close circle of about 5-8 people… but I’ve clearly overestimated how tight we were.

One in particular, didn’t even have time for a call on the day this adversity happened, and then doesn’t respond to texts for 10 days.

The only person I can rely on when the going gets tough is me.

I’m getting myself back to full health, taking care of me, and I’ll be stronger.

Friends are only friends, nothing more.
