Bread
When I came to Canada, the price of a normal loaf of bread was less than a dollar. Now, it is 4.50 CAD in some stores. I do not waste any bread anymore. I have stopped buying fancy bread. If I want fancy, I bake from scratch.Early morning, I see the stores replace the bread with fresh bread. I wonder what they do with the old bread. If they are throwing it away, I want it.
The other day, one woman could not afford bread and she put it back. She did not buy anything. She was young. I could have offered to buy her the bread, but I did not because it might hurt her self-respect or dignity. Dignity is important.
